Official Recognition of K-OAr as a CLARIN K-Centre

On 23rd May 2025 K-OAr - Knowledge Centre for Oral Archives in Italy was officially recognized as a CLARIN Knowledge Centre (of Type K) by the Executive Director of CLARIN ERIC until 22nd May 2028.
As part of the CLARIN Knowledge Infrastructure, K-OAr provides comprehensive support to researchers, archivists, documentalists and conservators working with oral sources in Italy.
The Centre offers advice and consultancy on the entire life cycle of oral archives: production (informed consent and other legal issues, fieldwork methods), curation (metadata standards), long-term preservation (digitization standards), use/reuse (diligent search for legacy data, privacy and copyright issues, provenance research and recirculation).
HerLan is hosted by University of Siena – Arezzo Campus and is one of the CLARIN Centres established under the aegis of CLARIN-IT.
