Official Recognition of HerLan as a CLARIN K-Centre

On 2nd April 2025 HerLan - Knowledge Centre for Heritage Languages in Europe was officially recognized as a CLARIN Knowledge Centre (of Type K) by the Executive Director of CLARIN ERIC until 1st April 2028.
As part of the CLARIN Knowledge Infrastructure, HerLan aims to serve as a central hub for scholars studying the so called "heritage languages" (minority languages acquired in a family or community setting at an early age) throughout the European continent, by offering resources, advice and networking opportunities to enhance the understanding of "heritage languages" and their speakers (immigrant, indigenous or minority communities).
HerLan is hosted by UniOR-DAAM (University of Naples "L'Orientale" - Department of Asia, Africa and the Mediterranean) and is one of the CLARIN Centres established under the aegis of CLARIN-IT.
