CLARIN-IT will be present at the UniMoRe Summer School in Digital Humanities 2023 (Modena, 12-16/06/2023).
On Friday 16th June 2023, from 11:30 to 13:00, Dario Del Fante (UniFE-CLA | CLARIN-IT) will hold a Workshop entitled Using the CLARIN infrastructure for DH research: the example of ParlaMint.
The Workshop will focus on practical issues such as how digital humanists can benefit from the CLARIN research infrastructure for language as social and cultural data.
During the Workshop the organizer will present a brief overview of the CLARIN infrastructure, including its user-friendly language resources, its knowledge infrastructure, its participating consortia from across Europe and its wide range of resource families, covering corpora, lexical resources and NLP tools for tagging and annotating corpora.
Participants will learn practical steps for digital humanists to access and search existing corpora and tools within the CLARIN infrastructure, including its Virtual Language Observatory (VLO), its Switchboard and its Resource Families.
The Workshop will also explain to corpus creators how to embed or deposit language resources and tools in one of the CLARIN Centres and will include considerations relating to annotation, formats and standards, metadata, licensing and documentation.
