CLARIN-IT @ ARCHiVe Online Academy 2021

On Wednesday 1st September 2021 the Giorgio Cini Foundation will present the courses ARCHiVe Online Academy 2021: 30 lessons (in Italian and/or English) dedicated to cultural heritage and digital technologies, divided into four thematic areas.
The first thematic area will deal with sound sources and new technologies for digitization, automatic transcription, analysis and enhancement of this specific type of document. The course is organized by the Computational Sonology Center of the University of Padua and the partners of FONTI 4.0 - Conservation, transcription and access to analogical oral sources, a research project in the field of automatic transcription of sound sources, created with resources from the Regional Operational Program and co-financed with the European Social Fund 2014–2020 of the Veneto Region.
The first meeting (01/09/2021 | 16:30-18:30 | in English), which will be held under the patronage of CLARIN-IT, AISO (Italian Association of Oral History) and AISV (Italian Association of Voice Sciences), will introduce the FONTI 4.0 project and will present other case studies and techniques for the enhancement of oral sources thanks to new technologies in the field of Digital Humanities. CLARIN-IT will be represented by Silvia Calamai, who will present a contribution entitled "Vademecum for Oral Sources".
Seven more meetings dedicated to digitization, metadata, restoration, transcription and conservation of audio recordings will follow in the month of September: the theoretical lessons will be supplemented by thematic laboratories. In Lesson 2 - Metadata and analog audio recordings (16/09/2021 | 16:30-18:30 | in Italian) CLARIN-IT will be represented by Monica Monachini, who will present a contribution entitled "Archivio Vi.Vo. e CLARIN-IT".
