Renewed Italy Membership in CLARIN ERIC for Other 5 Years

On Tuesday 6^th October 2026 the Director General of Research for Funding Programming and Technological Innovation of the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) confirmed the renewal of Italy membership in CLARIN ERIC for a further five-year period (01/10/2025-30/09/2030).

The Director General also announced the appointments, effective for a three-year period, of Saverio Foti (Official at MUR Office VI) as the Official Representative of Italy within the General Assembly of CLARIN ERIC and Francesca Frontini (Researcher at CNR-ILC) as CLARIN-IT National Coordinator and a Member of the National Coordinators' Forum of CLARIN ERIC.

Monica Monachini, who led the Italian Consortium of CLARIN from 1^st October 2015 to 30^th September 2026, has passed the baton to Francesca Frontini, who has served as CLARIN-IT National Coordinator since 1^st October 2026.

CLARIN-IT takes this opportunity to thank Monica Monachini for her outstanding work over the past eleven years, for the dedication with which she guided the growth and consolidation of CLARIN-IT and for her fundamental contribution to the development of the Italian community of Social Sciences and Humanities and its active presence within the European context.

Monica Monachini will remain part of the CLARIN-IT team, contributing her expertise as a Senior Consultant and continuing to coordinate CLARIN-IT participation in national and international projects of infrastructural significance, thereby providing essential support to the activities of the National Consortium.
